Welcome to the Catherine Dickson Hofman Branch! The Catherine Dickson Hofman Branch had its origin in 1941 as a project of the Blair Woman's Club. It was known as the Blairstown Public Library until a donation was made to the library in memory of Catherine Dickson Hofman at which time the name changed. The Library was housed in the Old Mill building on Main Street which is owned by Blair Academy. Donations, fines, fund drives, volunteers, Blairstown Township, surrounding townships, and the Warren County Library supported the library. In 1991, the Warren County Library contracted with the Catherine Dickson Hofman Library to serve the northwestern section of Warren County. In 1995, the Library was incorporated into the Warren County Library System and moved into it's present home, located on Lambert Road. The Catherine Dickson Hofman Library Board of Trustees is now an association who sponsors programming, buys books, provides McNaughton rental books, has equipped our meeting room kitchen with appliances, purchased patron use computers, honors our volunteers with a yearly luncheon, and has been responsible for the addition of a reading room and a children's room to the library. The present location offers Internet access, patron use computers, books on tape and CD, videos, DVDs, music CDs, CD-ROM programs, fiction and non-fiction books, reference materials, a public copier, an Ellison die-cut machine and an Accu/Cut shape and letter machine, a meeting room, and a quiet reading room. |
