We Love Learning!
Warren County Library is ready to support you and your students. We aim to nurture a love for reading and learning among the adults and children in our communities. We do this through:
Educator Resources
For teachers, homeschool leaders, and educators of all kinds, we offer additional services upon request and availability.
- Learning Link is an educator-focused newsletter published bi-monthly through the school year. Content includes quick overviews of always-ready resources, educator tips for using library resources, upcoming literacy initiatives, upcoming holidays and observations, and more. Click to subscribe and see the most recent issue.
- Database Toolkit provides a quick overview of library databases, including important features, accessibility tools, and sample activities for use in classrooms.
- Reading Route: Library book and storytime delivery program for preschools.
- Library Field Trips: We welcome groups of up to 40 to visit our branches for a tour and activity (no cost). Students will receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the library facility, learn how to navigate the library catalog, use popular digital tools, and engage in a hands-on activity. We can tailor the visit to support specific academic goals.
- Drop-in visits: We would be thrilled to share a story, collaborate on a reading or research challenge, demonstrate how to use library resources, or talk about the library with your audience. Contact your preferred branch or reach out to our Youth Services Librarian to start the conversation.
- Literacy Initiatives: Our mutual goal of building strong readers and lifelong learners can make us a good partner for your literacy initiatives. Keep us in the loop regarding research activities and reading programs (eg, summer reading) so that we can be prepared to meet the demand of titles and topics. Students are welcome to participate in our frequent reading challenges (and win prizes!); some schools offer extra credit or reduced homework for proof of participation.
- School-Wide Events: We welcome the opportunity to visit with your school community. We are frequent attenders of Back to School Nights, Preschool Orientations, and Kindergarten Orientations. Family literacy and STEM events are some of our favorite activities to participate in, whether we are leading a station or sharing information about the library.
- Courtesy cards for employees of districts in our service areas.
- Learning Assist is a resource request program that encourages educators and caregivers to easily request topical content for use in their classrooms and learning spaces
- Student project displays in the local library branch
- Professional development workshops relating to our resources and/or programs (in-person or virtual)
